An apparatus and a method for adjusting convergence of a projection television are provided to make the convergence adjusted conveniently by simultaneously displaying an adjustment point for adjusting static and dynamic convergence when a convergence adjustment instruction is inputted. When a user inputs a convergence adjustment instruction, a microcomputer(200) performs control of static and dynamic convergence adjustment according to a request of the user on a convergence adjustment picture displayed by a display part(700). A convergence adjustment part(300) compares reference convergence adjustment data preliminarily stored in a storage part(100) with previous convergence adjustment data in response to a control signal from the microcomputer and performs correction according to a result of the comparison. According to an adjustment value from the convergence adjustment part and deviation control of a deviation control part(500), a video process part(600) processes an inputted video signal so that it becomes a signal capable of being displayed on a screen.
