摘要 A higher-order-mode dispersion compensation device and an optical communication system using the same are provided to improve stability and dispersion compensation performance by enhancing the mode conversion efficiency. A higher-order-mode dispersion compensation device includes a mode converter(220) and a higher-order-mode dispersion compensation fiber(230). The mode converter(220) is provided to convert single mode signal light received through an input terminal thereof to ring mode signal light, and outputs the converted ring mode signal light to an output terminal thereof while the mode converter(220) has a positive dispersion value. The higher-order-mode dispersion compensation fiber(230) is connected to the output terminal of the mode converter(220). The higher-order-mode dispersion compensation device compensates a pure dispersion value of the signal light to a value of 0 by coupling the ring mode converted by the mode converter(220) to a high-order-mode.
