SECURITY SYSTEM FOR APPARATUS IN A WIRELESS NETWORK

The invention relates to a security system for wireless networks. Said system comprises a first portable unit, which contains a memory (3) for storing a universally unambiguous key data record (4) and is designed to transmit the key data record (4) over short distances. A receiving device (7), which comprises a receiver (9) for receiving the key data record (4) and an evaluation component (11) for storing, processing and/or forwarding the key data record (4) or part of the key data record to a second component, is provided in at least one wireless device (2) of the network. The devices of the wireless network acquire a common secret key by means of the key data record, said key enabling the encoding and decoding of the transmitted useful data and/or authentication. According to an optional embodiment of the invention, the key data record can be derived from the biometric characteristics of a user and entered in the portable unit.
