A power amplifier and a controlling method thereof are provided to maximize power consumption efficiency in a high output mode and a low output mode by forming the high output mode and the low output mode on the basis of an output value of a particular level. A plurality of input impedance matching circuits(33,34) are used for matching impedance of RF signals received through a common input terminal. High and low output amplifiers(31,32) are connected in parallel to each other in order to amplify the RF signals. A plurality of output impedance matching circuits(35,36) are used for matching impedance of output signals of the high and low output amplifiers(31,32), and outputting the matched signals to a common output terminal. A common output impedance matching circuit(37) is used for matching impedance of signals synthesized with in-phase current of the common output terminal, and outputting the amplified RF signals. A supply current control unit(300) controls the current supplied to the high and low output amplifiers(31,32) in an analog manner according to an output power level.
