FIELD: metallic coatings. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to applying coatings through thermal decomposition of vaporized organometallic compounds and can be employed in manufacture of chromium-based protective coatings on parts made from structural and low-alloyed steels. Invention provides a method for manufacturing chrome-carbide coatings wherein substrate is placed in reactor and heated to 430-450°, vaporizer heated to 320-340°, and deposition of coating is accomplished by decomposing organometallic compound in inert gas flow (0.010-0.013 l/min) at pressure in reactor 1,33.102 Pa. ^ EFFECT: increased adhesion to substrate. ^ 1 tbl |
