METHOD FOR JOINING OF TOOTHBRUSH HEAD TO HANDLE WITH THE USE OF LASER

FIELD: methods for producing of toothbrushes by welding preliminarily manufactured thermoplastic toothbrush head to handle. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves selecting toothbrush head made from material transmitting energy with wavelength of from 4.0 to 6.0 microns; selecting toothbrush handle made from material absorbing energy with wavelength of from 4.0 to 6.0 microns; aligning respective end surfaces of head and handle so as to form joint; exposing said joint to laser beam with wavelength of from 4.0 to 6.0 microns and output power of from 50 W to 400 W in the form of succession of pulses of 0.5-1.5 ms duration. Laser beam penetrates into toothbrush head and reaches joint, with laser beam energy being absorbed at joint part by energy absorbing material. It results in melting of head and handle surfaces around joint and alloying thereof. Two versions of the invention are described. ^ EFFECT: provision for producing high-quality toothbrushes from materials possessing various physical properties. ^ 41 cl, 2 dwg
