FIELD: pipe line shut-off fittings; water and gas piping systems. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed shut-off member of ball cock has hollow spherical plug and spindle of varying section which is connected with plug. Mushroom-shaped spindle is provided with cap. One part of this cap is engageable with external surface of hollow sphere and other part is engageable with inner surface of this sphere. Method of manufacture of shut-off member for ball cock includes manufacture of metal blanks for spherical plug and spindle followed by machining and assembly. Plug and spindle are assembled in heated state at temperature interval (Ac1-100°C)±50°C at total deformation of 70-90% at rate of deformation not exceeding 2 mm/s. ^ EFFECT: low cost; enhanced operational reliability due to tight joint. ^ 4 cl, 3 dwg |
