An integrated unit is provided to integrate a main control function with a network connection switching function in one unit, to reduce the number of units mounted on an HS(Host System) or an RS(Remote System) to perform an MCM(Main Control Module) function and an NIM(Network Interface Module) function, thereby easily processing a maintenance/fault management. A network connector extracts data from signals received from an external transmission network, or signal-converts data to be transmitted to the external transmission network, and performs an interface with an RS for subscriber expanding. A data processor(110) carries out a data processing function for demultiplexing the data received from the network connector. A data routing unit(120) routes the transmitted data according to routing information on the data, and transmits the routed data to a connected bus. A switching unit(130) switches the data according to the routing information. A memory(140) stores constitutional information on operating software, application software, and units. A main control processor(150) executes main control and switching processes for network managing and system maintaining.
