A driving device of a liquid crystal display device and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce a fabrication process period of the liquid crystal display device by displaying picture patterns on the liquid display panel in a silent state of an image signal. An image signal processing unit(110) extracts complex synchronous signals and a first image signal from complex image signals received from the outside. An image signal generation unit generates a second image signal. An input signal detection unit counts the complex synchronous signals and generates selection signals. An image signal selection unit(150) outputs selectively one of the first image signal received from the image signal processing unit(110) and the second image signal received from the image signal generation unit according to the selection signals. A data driver(132) is provided to supply the output image signal selected by the image signal selection unit to a liquid crystal panel.
