DEVICE FOR PROTECTION OF WATER AND STEAM COIL FROM FREEZING IN AIR-CONDITIONER

A device for protecting a hot water or steam coil from freezing in an air conditioner is provided to automatically completely discharge water of a coil inside in winter in case of temporarily stopping air conditioner, thereby conveniently and stably using the air conditioner. A coil(13) is connected with an input pipe(15) having an upper end connected with an outlet of a hot-water boiler and having a blocked lower end, and is connected with an output pipe(17) having a blocked upper end and a lower end connected with an inlet of the hot-water boiler so that hot water or steam circulates on the coil, the input pipe and the output pipe. An opening pipe(19) communicating the inside of the input pipe with the outside and a solenoid valve(21) opening and shutting the opening pipe are installed at the upper end of the input pipe. A suction pipe(23) discharging water of the output pipe inside and a pump(25) having an inlet connected with the suction pipe are installed at the lower end of the output pipe. If an air conditioner stops, a control unit(31) automatically opens the solenoid valve and drives the pump to discharge water remaining at the coil.
