PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a grating by a chain of pressing operation. SOLUTION: The grating 1 is provided with a plurality of main bars 3 with grooves (not shown in the figure) laid in the width direction, and a lateral pair of connecting bars 4 for connecting the adjacent main bars 3. To manufacture the grating 1, pressing operation 1 for opening hole parts 17 and groove parts 18 is performed to a plate 6, and after feeding by a predetermined pitch N, the length direction fixing of the plate 6 is released. In this state, pressing operation 2 is performed to form the main bars 3. At this time, the added length of the feed pitch N and a bending margin Q in the pressing operation 2 is equal to the length wise pitch L of the hole parts 17 and groove parts 18 opened in the pressing operation 1 (L=N+Q).
