PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide release paper for an adhesive label, having high optical transparency, high in releasability and good in punchability in constructing or producing the adhesive label, to provide a method for producing the release paper, and to provide the adhesive label using the release paper. SOLUTION: The release paper for an adhesive label is obtained by successively laminating one side of a sheet of plain paper with an underlayer comprising a resin or wax as at least a 1st layer and a release layer as a 2nd layer. The release paper is characterized by that the base paper ash content and the base paper opacity of the plain paper are≤5.0 wt.% and≤75.5% respectively. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
