PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sustained release preventive agent for algae and Legionella bacteria improved in skin irritation and used for controlling algae/Legionella bacteria living in circulation water in cooling towers, circulating cooling water of freezers or a cold-hot water system, a heat storage water system, or the like, of warm water pools, bathrooms, and the like, and a composition of the same. SOLUTION: The sustained release preventive agent for algae and Legionella bacteria improved in skin irritation contains a dithiol compound expressed by formula (I) as an essential ingredient.
