PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly cool a piston by easily guiding oil to a cooling channel. SOLUTION: The piston for an internal combustion engine comprises the cooling channel 12 formed in the piston 10. Oil is injected through an oil jet 15 under the piston 10 toward an inlet 13 of the cooling channel 12. On a ceiling portion of the cooling channel 12 above the inlet 13. a guide wall 16 is provided for turning the flow of the oil entering from the inlet 13 in the direction of forming the cooling channel 12.
