The production of a pane arrangement comprises placing a glass pane (40) and a plastic film (42) between the inner surfaces (16, 18) of two workpiece halves (12, 14) to form a film composite, closing the halves to form an air-tight seal between them, evacuating the space between the halves, heat treating the film composite to laminate the plastic film to the pane, and opening the halves to remove the laminated pane. An independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out the above process.
