<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which compensation control of unevenness of travel speed of an intermediate transfer belt which occurs due to uneven thickness of the intermediate transfer belt is performed together with the compensation control of speed variation other than frequency components for a round of the intermediate transfer belt without requiring a complicated compensation calculation. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus equipped with the intermediate transfer belt 20, is further equipped with a nonvolatile storage means 41 for storing the unevenness of the travel speed for a round of the intermediate transfer belt which occurs when a roller 21 driving the intermediate transfer belt 20 is driven at fixed speed and a drive control means 40 for performing the compensation control of the travel speed of the roller 21 so that the travel speed of the intermediate transfer belt 20 becomes constant based on the information in the storage means 41. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
