PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having superior electrophotographic characteristics and having superior properties of wear resistance and scratch resistance. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor, having a photosensitive layer, or a photosensitive layer and a protective layer on a support body, the photosensitive layer and/or the protective layer are formed by irradiating with radiation, and irradiation is carried out in two or more steps. In each step of irradiating with radiation in the two or more steps, the temperature of the photoreceptor in the m-th (m is an integer≥2) step of irradiation with radiation is controlled to satisfy the relation (A): (temperature of the photoreceptor in the (m-1)-th step)<(temperature of the photoreceptor in the m-th step)<(temperature of the photoreceptor in the (m+1)-th step).
