PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device in which a peeling member is accurately arranged with a prescribed interval from a heating member, the intrusion of a fixing medium can be prevented, and even when paper is carried without beeing peeled off, the fixing medium can be guided so as not to come into contact with a temperature detection means and to provide an image forming apparatus provided with the fixing device. SOLUTION: On the downstream side of a contact part between a heat roller 26 and a pressure roller 27 in the rotational direction of the heat roller 26, a thermistor 34 is arranged oppositely to the surface of the heat roller 26, and side guide members 64 arranged on both sides of the heat roller 26 in the axial direction of the heat roller 26 and a regulation guide member 65 bridged between both the side guide members 64 arranged on the downstream side in the rotational direction of the heat roller 26 are provided, with respect to the thermistor 34. A peeling plate 33 for peeling off paper 3 is arranged between the contact part and the thermistor 34 in the rotational direction of the heat roller 26 at a prescribed interval from the surface of the heat roller 26.
