PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation image conversion panel which is excellent both in luminance and in sharpness and a method for photographing. SOLUTION: The radiation image conversion panel which has an undercoating layer, a stimulable phosphor layer and a protective layer on a support in order of mention is characterized in that a coloring matter which absorbs laser light is contained in the undercoating layer, the stimulable phosphor layer and the protective layer and that the unit area quantity of the coloring matter has a relationship of its concentration in the order of (that in the protective layer)≤(that in the stimulable phosphor layer) < (that in the undercoating layer).
