PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a wide cooling water passage between a first and a second boss by dividing a plug boss of a cylinder head into the first and the second boss and allow cooling water to smoothly flow between the first and the second boss and to prevent breakage of a casting core for the cylinder head during casting of the cylinder head. SOLUTION: The cylinder head 11 is attached to a cylinder block 12. A cooling water passage 17 for passage of cooling water is formed in an inside of the cylinder head 11 surrounded by a bottom wall 13 contacting the cylinder block 12 and an upper wall 14 opposite to the bottom wall 13. The plug boss 24 for insertion of a glow plug 23 is formed in the cooling water passage 17. The plug boss 24 comprises a first boss 24a formed in the bottom wall 13 and a second boss 24b which is formed in the upper wall 14 at a predetermined distance from the first boss 24a and has the same axis with the first boss 24a.
