PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical, particularly a new compound useful for prevention or treatments of various diseases caused by infection with viruses of the family of Herpesviridae, concretely various herpes virus infectious diseases such as varicella caused by infection with varicella-zoster viruses, herpes zoster caused by regression infection with insidious varicella-zoster viruses, herpes labialis or herpetic encephalitis caused by infection with HSV-1 or herpes genitalis caused by infection with HSV-2. SOLUTION: The N-(phenylcarbamoylmethyl)amide derivative substituted with a specific 5 to 6-membered heteroaryl group at the 4-position of the phenyl group or a salt thereof has good antiviral activities and makes it possible to treat the above diseases by oral administration at a low dose.
