PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems in a conventional booklet loading device wherein the device has a booklet loading tray and an inclined long conveying belt constitutionally and hence the device itself becomes large to require large installation space, a booklet loading amount is small, and the booklet loading position is low to make extraction of the loaded booklets difficult. SOLUTION: Booklets X ejected from a post-handling device Y of a binding machine or a copying machine/printer are received on the conveying belt 2, are moved vertically upward by a booklet lifting means C, are then ejected horizontally, are sequentially loaded on a tray 11. The upper surface of the booklets X loaded on the tray 11 is detected and controlled to be always kept at a certain height by a loaded booklet lifting means E. Thus, the conveying belt is shortened and the device is miniaturized and saved in space. Many booklets are loaded and easily extracted. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
