The waste bin (1) has a collar-form support section on the rim of the upper filling opening (3) and under which grips the especially straight comb (7) of a lifting device. The front edge (4a) of the collar-form support section is drawn out wide in relation to the front wall (6) of the bin in such a way that the smallest distance between the front edge and front wall comes to preferably 10-15 per cent of the width of the bin. An independent claim is included for a lifting device especially to accommodate a waste bin and which has a lift comb which at least in sections is in circular arc form.
