PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic transmitting/receiving apparatus capable of imaging both a micro-tissue around a bone part and a micro-tissue inside the bone of a subject with high resolution. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic transmitting/receiving apparatus comprises transmitting elements 11 and 12 operated according to a plurality of applied driving signals, synthesizers 21 and 22 for producing driving signals to be applied to the transmitting elements, a system control part 46 for controlling the synthesizers to make the transmitting element 11 transmit a first ultrasonic wave while sweeping the frequency and to make the transmitting element 12 transmit a second ultrasonic wave while sweeping the frequency so that a predetermined difference in the frequency from the first ultrasonic wave is kept, a receiving part 14 for receiving an ultrasonic echo and vibratory sound and outputting detection signals, a signal processing part 41 for applying a predetermined signal process to the detection signal of the ultrasonic echo, a signal processing part 42 for applying a prescribed signal process to the detection signal of the vibratory sound, and a display image operation part 45 for preparing B-mode image data based on the processed detection signals.
