PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold for injection molding which is fitted with an attachable/detachable cavity insert in the form of a plate frame with the inside cut in the shape of a plate molding and can precisely mold two or more plate moldings different in shape or size and a method for producing the plate molding using the mold. SOLUTION: The mold for injection molding the plate molding of a thermoplastic resin is composed of a fixed mold and a movable mold. The movable mold or the fixed mold has a four-sided outer frame and the cavity insert in the form of the plate frame. The outside of the cavity insert is rectangular and touches on the outer frame, and the inside of the cavity insert is cut in the shape of the plate molding.
