PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver and a method thereof capable of learning to create a viewing environment according to a user's taste. SOLUTION: A memory 19 stores a keyword and a parameter for adjustment for adjusting both/either image quality and/or sound quality so that they are correlated with each other. A user can create the key word with a user interface such as an OSD control unit 16 on the basis of control of a TV microcomputer 18. A VBI processor 15 acquires information about the received content such as an electronic program guide. The TV microcomputer 18 collates the information acquired by the section 15 with the key word stored in the memory 19, and if they match, the TV microcomputer 18 adjusts the image quality of the content to be outputted to a display section 14 and the sound quality of the content to be outputted to a sound output section 22 by using the parameter for adjustment stored in the memory 19 so as to be correlated with the key word.
