PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a disk chucking mechanism and a disk drive device thin by improving the position accuracy of each part of the devices. SOLUTION: This device includes a chucking pulley 49 having a rotation sliding projection 51g holding a disk type recording medium 100 between a disk table 59 and the pulley; and chucking; a supporting arm 42 supporting the chucking pulley freely rotatably; first pins 45, 45 for elevation and second pins 46, 46 for elevation provided at the supporting arm; a pressing member 52 which is fixed to the supporting arm and brought into contact with a tip of the rotation sliding projection and presses the chucking pulley to a disk table side; an energizing spring 48 brought into elastic contact with the first pin for elevation; and moving means 31, 36 for moving the chucking pulley in the direction of approaching and separating to/from the disk table, holding parts 39c, 39c for holding the first pin for elevation at an operation position at the time of chucking of the disk type recording medium are formed in the moving means, and the supporting arm and the pressing member are energized toward the direction of approaching the disk table by deforming elastically the energizing spring by the first pin for elevation held at the operation position.
