PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a pulse pattern generator which outputs a test signal having high waveform quality even if the shape of an eye pattern is altered. SOLUTION: A pulse pattern generator generating a test signal of specified pattern using a plurality of digital/analog converters and outputting the test signal to a test object is improved. The pulse pattern generator comprises a section for setting the value of a plurality of parameters for determining the shape of an eye pattern of the test signal, a section for storing the output values to the digital/analog converters corresponding to the value of parameters, a section for operating the output values to the digital/analog converters from the value of parameters at the parameter setting section and the output values from the storage section, and a section for setting the voltage values being outputted from the digital/analog converters in the digital/analog converters based on the results from the operating section.
