PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for inspecting a bottom surface of a vehicle, which can record image signals on videotape serving as an evidence for the future by using a television camera, can transmit the image signals to a technician in a remote place by using a wireless telephone in order to ask for an immediate judgement, and can be substituted for such inspection apparatuses carrying out direct visual inspections of the bottom surface, where a rod-shaped pipe having a mirror at its end section is inserted into a bottom space of the vehicle, or the vehicle is mounted on a truck moved up and down by an oil pressure means or the like and is raised thereby. SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with a carriage moving forward and backward on the ground under the bottom of the vehicle; the television camera with a wide angle lens which is mounted on the carriage; a foldable post which is supported at a portion of the rearward section of the carriage; a hand-push handle section disposed at the distal end of the post; an image display device for displaying images being photographed by the television camera; a recording / reproducing device capable of recording and reproducing the images photographed by the television camera; and the wireless telephone capable of transmitting and receiving the image signals, thereby enabling the image signals output from the television camera or the recording / reproducing device to be transmitted to a prescribed place.
