PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate flickers generated, when the surface temperature of a liquid crystal display panel is high, by changing the drive frequency condition, and to reduce the electric power consumption, particularly in a liquid crystal display device driven at a low frequency. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display, a temperature sensor 6 is mounted on the liquid crystal display panel 1. The temperature sensor 6 is connected to a frequency modulation circuit 5, and the frequency modulation circuit 5 is provided between a liquid crystal display device drive circuit 4, a gate driver 2 and a source driver 3. The drive signal, outputted from the liquid crystal display device driving circuit 4, is modulated by the frequency modulation circuit 5, according to the temperature detected by the temperature sensor 6.
