PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance visibility of date characters viewed from a calendar window. SOLUTION: A calendar timepiece has a hour plate with the calendar window and a ring-shaped date plate disposed on the bottom side of the hour plate and formed with the date characters of 1-31, rotates the date plate each day, by making the date character viewed from the calendar window and displays a date. The hour plate 31 has a groove 31b disposed on the bottom side of a location corresponding to the calendar window 31a, formed and concentric with a center hole. The ring-shaped date plate 32 has a step, comprising an external high step 32d and an internal low step 32c, the date characters 32a are formed in the high step 32d of the date plate 32, and the high step 32d is accommodated in the groove 31b of the hour plate 31.
