In Figure 2 the guides are spring loaded and when a pattern mechanism selects a guide its latch 26 is raised so that the guide is released and returns with the sley to back centre where it presents it thread to a dummy or gripper shuttle 1. Movement of the sley to beat-up returns the guide. In Figure 7 the pattern mechanism operates to lower a spring loaded catch 35 on the guide so that the catch may engage a plate 31 connected to the sley and the selected guide be moved positively in both directions. In this embodiment the guides 17-20 move in parallel tracks 47 and are tilted by passing through pivotal guides 43. The selector mechanisms are unitary and may be adjusted on the breast beam for different width fabrics.</p> |
