<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device for vehicle headlight using a plurality of LED chips as the light source, suitable for a headlight, an auxiliary headlight or the like for irradiating light frontward, and to provide the vehicle headlight. <P>SOLUTION: The light source device for the vehicle head light 11 is constructed so as to include LED chips 21 arranged in a cavity 20a formed on the upper face of a pedestal 20, a resin part 22 sealing the LED chips in the cavity, an optical member 23 arranged at the upside of the pedestal at a distance from the LED chips, a light-shielding part 24 arranged on the inner face of the optical member forming a cut-off suitable for a light distribution pattern of the vehicle headlight, and a phosphor layer 25 disposed on an area excluding the light-shielding part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
