<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal authentication system using an ID and a password and requiring a low individual management load from a manager while maintaining security protection effect equivalent to that of a system in which a single password is managed by a single person. <P>SOLUTION: This IC tag authentication system is provided with an IC tag attached to an object and allowing rewriting of stored information, a storage medium carried by each of possessors, and a terminal capable of performing information communication with the IC tag. The respective storage media store keys specific to the possessors carrying the storage media. In response to input of an identifier specific to the possessor carrying the storage medium, the terminal requires the storage medium to give the key. In response to the request, the storage medium gives the key to the terminal, and the terminal carries out access authentication to the IC tag by using the system accessing the IC tag when the key matches the identifier in one-to-one correspondence. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
