PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide simple technique for obtaining the accurate correspondence of positional relation between image information obtained from a sensor for visible light and image information obtained from a sensor for infrared light. SOLUTION: The position adjusting method is a method for adjusting the positions of a visible light image from photographic film acquired by the sensor for visible light and an infrared light image from the photographic film acquired by the sensor for infrared light. The visible light image and the infrared light image are divided into a plurality of areas, and positional shift is performed several times in corresponding area units, and also pattern matching processing is performed between the visible light image and the infrared light image at respective shifted positions. The shifted position where a matching rate is the highest is regarded as the accurate positional relation between the visible light image and the infrared light image. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
