PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image conversion method, a computer program to perform the method, an information recording medium recording the computer program, an image conversion method and an image output system that improve the reproducibility of the colors in a color proof and promotes the automation of output. SOLUTION: The image conversion device sets output conditions/color information comparison table by using a setting means 301. The CPU 31 of the image conversion device 3 inputs output conditions by performing a condition input means 302 and stores special color names in a main memory 32 by performing a color information acquisition means 303, selects color information corresponding to the special color names as output conditions from a comparison table by performing a selection means 304 and forms color adjustment information by performing a formation means 305. Furthermore, the image conversion device generates an output control signal to control a color proof output device 4 by performing an output control means 306 and sends the signal to the color proof output device 4 together with image data.
