A power-saving type air conditioner with a steam heater is provided to sufficiently heat in a hard winter, to quickly reach set temperature and to minimize power consumption in heating and defrosting operation. A plate type evaporator(149) is connected with a compressor(109) and an outdoor unit(300). A plate type reheat condenser(131) is connected with the outdoor unit in parallel between the compressor and the evaporator. A plate type steam radiator(409) has a steam coil(407) connected with a steam boiler(401) and a condenser(413). The evaporator, the reheat condenser and the steam radiator are installed in the housing in order. The evaporator, the reheat condenser and the steam radiator contact with each other without a gap to pass all air passing through the evaporator through the reheat condenser and to pass all air passing through the reheat condenser through the steam radiator. A hot gas input pipe(123) is installed between a distributor(147) of the evaporator and the compressor for directly inputting hot gas of high temperature and pressure compressed in the compressor to the evaporator. A steam heater selectively or simultaneously uses radiation through a refrigerant circulating on the compressor, the reheat condenser, the hot gas input pipe, the evaporator and the compressor or radiation of the steam radiator in heating. |
