摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-dimensional optical recording material as a high-density and high-capacity recording medium which achieves ultrahigh density and ultrahigh capacity recording several tens or hundreds times of those of a conventional two-dimensional recording medium, and to provide a recording method. <P>SOLUTION: The method for two-photon absorption optical recording is carried out by inducing changes in the orientation of a compound having a specific birefringent index by two-photon absorption and fixing the compound as it is by chemical reaction to record as modulation of the refractive index by a unrewritable method. The two-photon absorption optical recording material by the unrewritable method contains at least a low molecular weight liquid crystalline compound having a polymerizable group, a photoreactive compound performing two-photon absorption and a polymerization initiator. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
