RECORDING MEDIUM AND RECORDING/REPRODUCTION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording/reproduction device that realizes appropriate use of a recording medium using a biodegradable plastic material and provide a recording medium therefor.

SOLUTION: When an optical disk 1 is inserted into an optical disk device 2, a management area 21 is read out. In the case that a signal indicating that the optical disk 1 is a biodegradable optical-disk is recorded in the management area 21, if temperature in the device is determined to be predetermined temperature or higher during recording/reproduction onto/from a data area 22 of the optical disk 1, the recording and/or reproduction onto/from the optical disk 1 is stopped. Then, the optical disk 1 is ejected outside the optical disk device 2.
