摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas treatment method suitable for reducing and removing nitrogen oxide, which is contained in the gas exhausted from an internal combustion engine or a petroleum refining plant, at a low temperature by using a catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: This treatment method for the exhaust gas containing nitrogen oxide includes a low temperature denitrification process for advancing denitrification reaction in a temperature region of 320&deg;C or blow using a honeycomb-shaped denitrification catalyst and a reducing agent and a catalyst regeneration process for removing an S-containing compound being a poisoning substance accumulated on the denitrification catalyst in the low temperature denitrification process to regenerate the denitrification catalyst. The low temperature denitrification process and the catalyst regeneration process are continuously repeated at least twice.
