PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator and a brushless motor increased in output, reduced in noise and vibration and superior in rotational balance. SOLUTION: The brushless motor is formed such that a plurality of cores 35a to 35i, which are axially arranged so as to oppose magnets 26 of a rotor 20, are wound around with three-phase windings of a U-phase, V-phase and W-phase, and notched grooves 50a to 50i parallel to a rotor rotating shaft are formed on faces opposing the magnets 26 of cores 35a to 35i. In this embodiment, three types of the cores 35 formed with the notched grooves 50 at their different places are circumferentially arranged in sequence. Therefore, at the adjacent cores, positions of regions that are cut deepest in the notched grooves are always different with respect to center lines of the cores. The winding of each phase is wound on each of the three types of the cores one by one, and a cubic volume of the notched groove 50 of the core of each phase is almost the same as those of the others.
