PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation system for using a memory source effectively on a slave unit side, by transmitting the size of read-out image data to a slave unit side previously to image transmission and determining a coupling operation according to a condition of the memory on the slave unit side. SOLUTION: A plurality of image formation units are connected electrically. One arbitrary image formation unit out of the plurality of image formation units is used as a master unit, and the master unit transmits read-out image data to the other image formation units as slave units. In this way, the image formation system includes a means for processing in parallel while the master unit and the slave units take partial charges of printing as a coupled job. Previously to the transmission of the image data, the size of the transmitting image is transmitted, so that whether the coupling operation by using the margin of the slave unit side is possible or not is determined.
