PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body structure for an automobile, facilitating rotating operation of a door part, and enabling smooth getting on/off of a passenger by ensuring a doorway of a large opening area. SOLUTION: The body structure for the automobile is provided with a windshield element 2 having a front window portion 5 and a roof portion 6, and a side door bar 3. The roof portion 6 of the windshield element 2 and the side door bar is integrally formed. The front window portion 5 of the windshield element 2 is fixed to a vehicle body front portion 1, and the roof portion 6 of the windshield element 2 and the side door bar 3 are rotatably attached to the vehicle body front portion 1. At the time of getting on/off, the roof portion 6 of the windshield element 2 and the side door bar 3 are integrally rotated while leaving the front window portion 5 of the windshield element 2, thereby opening/closing the doorway 4 of the vehicle body.
