PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a load to be applied to a shift switch mechanism when selecting shift range. SOLUTION: A P-ECU 40 carries out a program including a step S100 for starting detection of wall position by learning abutting on a wall, a step S104 for shutting power supply to an actuator 42 when wall position is detected (YES in S102), and a step S110 for starting learning abutting on a wall again after the predetermined time is passed after power supply to the actuator 42 is shut (YEAS in S108) in the case wherein shift count when (detecting the wall position)-(shift count when starting learning wall position) is larger than the predetermined change quantity (YES in S106) in response to a request to select shift from a V-ECU 30.
