PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder of an internal combustion engine, for sufficiently improving sealability with simple structure and effectively preventing deformation or breakage of a member and thereby to improve reliability. SOLUTION: In an engine 10, a cylinder head 1 having a recess part 11 is fixed on a cylinder block 2. The cylinder block 2 includes an outer wall 4 having a support table on which an edge part 12 of the cylinder head 1 is seated, and a cylinder bore wall 3 projected from the inside of the outer wall 4. An open end part 32 of the cylinder bore wall 3 is fit into the recess part 11, and a gasket 5 is interposed between the open end part 32 and the edge part 12 of the cylinder head 1.
