PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hinged cantilever for a ladder, which is positively fixed to a wall to facilitate setting of the ladder, and hardly undergoes breakage when the ladder is mounted thereon. SOLUTION: The hinged cantilever is formed of a ladder-side support piece 2 which is formed almost like the T as viewed from the front, and a wall-side support piece 3 which has a curved bottom surface 17 on a proximal end 16 so as to follow a curved surface of the wall, and has both side support portions 18. The wall-side support piece has bolt holes formed in both the side support portions, and has a long anchor bolt mounting hole 22 formed in the proximal end in a direction perpendicular to the bolt holes at a location that is deviated from the bolt holes. Further the ladder-side support piece has a bolt hole formed in a T-shaped horizontal portion thereof, to which an outer surface of a side bar 6 is connected. Furthermore both side plates 13 each protruding from a T-shaped hanging portion has a bolt hole formed therein along the same line as that of the bolt hole of each of both the side support portions of the wall-side support piece.
