PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding door device capable of preventing a sliding door from swinging in the car width direction by an inexpensive means requiring no high machining accuracy, no adjustment work, or no assembling work. SOLUTION: In the sliding door device, an upper guide rail 1 and an upper guide roller 3 determine an opening/closing locus of a sliding door 2 in the approximately horizontal direction and support the door slidably to a car body B. A sub roller 6 for moving with the upper guide roller 3 is provided at a position close to the upper guide roller 3 while forming a clearance H between itself and a rail outer wall 11. A spacer member 7 made of elastic material is provided on the outside surface of a bracket outer wall 41 of a front side bracket 4, which is the outside of the rail outer wall 11 facing to the sub roller 6 when the sliding door 2 is arranged at a full-closed position.
