The invention relates to a tool for the production of a microstructured surface, comprising a flexible die (3) with a negative of the microstructure which is to be produced and a nip roller (1) which can be displaced over a surface and which is used to press the die against the surface. The nip roller (1) and die (3) are arranged in such a way that the die (3) is displaced in a rolling movement between the roller (1) and surface when the roller (1) is displaced over the surface, such that the negative of the die (3) faces the surface. A device for accelerating the hardening of a hardenable material is disposed in such a way that it accompanies the movement of the nip roller (1) as it is displaced over the surface and acts upon part of the surface.
