An absorbent or filtration fabric may be of woven or non-woven construction but preferably comprises an air-laid cellulosic fiber web bonded by embossing, needle punching, hydraulic penetration, or fused thermoplastic fiber, and contains 15-45% of an adsorbent, selected according to final application, to provide an overall fabric weight of 100-600 g/m2>.
