A repeater and a communication system are provided to comprise the first antenna coil electronically combined with an antenna coil of an information reading output/recording input device and the second antenna coil electronically combined with an antenna coil of a noncontact information medium, thereby enabling better wireless communication even though the antenna coils are totally different in shape and size. The first antenna coil(31) is electronically combined with an antenna coil(11) of an information reading output/recording input device(10). The second antenna coil(32) is electronically combined with an antenna coil(21) of a noncontact information medium(20) while being connected with the first antenna coil(31) in serial. A tuning condenser(33) connects with the first antenna coil(31) and the second antenna coil(32) in serial. The first/second antenna coils(31,32) and the tuning condenser(33) configure a resonant circuit(34), which resonates with a resonant frequency of a resonant circuit(13) of the device(10) and a resonant frequency identical with that of a resonant circuit(23) of the medium(20).
